The Full Story
I am a 27 year old adult. I like to go by the name "Merlin" because it signifies my talents & skills. I have been doing Computer repairs with software & hardware since 2010. I started out with helping out my church members with there computer issues and going to there houses and dealing with there printer issues, Wi-fi, setup there Smart TV's and more.
What Merlin means to me. Merlin is from the ability to know different realms of magic to achieve greatness. Merlin isn't a one track knowledge person, he's combining different things into one to be effective in solving problems.
I have worked at multiple computer shops I started with being at Saint Pete Computer Clinic where I was there for a year. I was the one doing the repairs while the Owner Bill Ledsome the 3rd was handling the customers questions and dealing intake.
For the next little bit I went into harnessing the ability of working with customers on my own by building simple websites with Wix & Squarespace for them.
Then I went into going fully into working at Mark Evans Computers Technology for 2 years. I was doing quite well doing software & hardware repairs for his customers.
I have truly been able to make sense of everything from Graphic Design to doing Computer Repairs for customers. I guess you could say that I am multi talented with everything from what I have achieved. I want to transition into working for myself with the experience of everything combined.
I am willing to keep growing and learning from my past experiences to help others.
Graphic Design
You find my portfolio of design by looking up and finding Design with Phoenix. I have meant to change the vibe into being "Design with Merlin" but haven't fully changed it over yet.
I do everything from using Cinema 4D, After Effects, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, & more. I demonstrate a few on the websites I have made for my clients as well.
I really enjoy what Nvidia Graphic Cards have to offer in terms of how there CUDA hardware acceleration does for graphic design software. For this reason alone is why I have stayed with Nvida for all my life. If you have AMD Hardware theres no clear path to use it for accelerated workflows with programs like Maxon Cinema 4D, if you're using a AMD Video card but wanting to use "Turbulence FD" you're stuck with just CPU simulation which makes what you want to do take forever.
In my free time
When I am not doing computer repairs. I still find things around me that need to be repaired. I have a mountain tech from Laptops to Apple Products to repair to use for my own personal use.
For Video games I enjoy playing Warframe I have been playing and fully enjoying Warframe made by Digital Extremes for well over the past 12+ years. On my phone I will play Pokemon Go and that's really it. Need for Speed from EA isn't really being produced much anymore its very arcade like and they don't support it for long until after you buy the game. Forza Horizon from Playground Games isn't bad either and has more life to it than what Need for Speed has offered.
